Jonah's background as a carpenter and lumberjack are plain for all to see. A well built frame and callused hands attest to that. His graying rough beard covers a stern mouth. However, the lines around his eyes betray his easy smile and good humour. His cold blue eyes shine with intelligence, and are constantly darting around to take in all sights. Jonah carries many scars gained from his battles in the Militia, but fortunately none are visible on his face save a small one on his chin. Jonah would be regarded as a handsome man, if a little roughed by his hard working life.

Pressganged into the Militia, in a foreign place with foreign people, Jonah at first saw little motivation to fight. However, after battling injustice and protecting the good lands of Yew he has come to regard the Militia as his family. Brought up as a carpenter, taking on the mantle of his father's business before coming to Yew, Jonah is well used to hard work. He is not shy of any task, and it would be fair to say that he even enjoys working. This eagerness to work has been passed on to his role in the Militia, where he is willing to do any task for the betterment of the Yewish people and lands.
